A new initiative born with a strong purpose, to accommodate the large number of waste generated and to introduce them back into the production cycle and reused.
The system is based on power recycle waste, but not just any garbage, ie not used wastes usually occur at home, but emerging waste would be recycled in certain industrial activities such as slag generated in the manufacture of steel, ash or glass.
The idea is to collect these wastes for blocks, that later would be used in the construction industry. The material used to make these blocks due its characteristics, confer resistance to these blocks up to six times higher than traditional concrete, in addition to relieving the amount of industrial waste and preventing the formation of new concrete cajetones largely minimizing environmental impact that implies.
These new blocks are called Bitublock and have been developed by engineer John Forth of the University of Leeds.
The different components of the new block is introduced into a mold of cement and are joined by a compound called bitumen, which confers the properties cajetón doing work on-duty as a block homogeneous.
This new system, according to experts, can revolutionize the world of construction, will begin shipping in about a year in the UK.
Companies using this new type of block may contribute to the protection of the Environment within the meaning of the reuse of hundreds of tons of waste and the fact prevent new blocks of concrete, thus sparing CO2 emissions to the atmosphere .
